As an Mpesa Specialist Payment & Online Integration, your role is to develop and implement new M-Pesa products and services. This involves assessing new requests, designing solutions, performing business configuration, and overseeing new initiatives. You will collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the product development stages. Your responsibilities also include driving innovation, executing partnerships that positively impact the M-Pesa business, and aligning with Agile methodologies for product development.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:

- Ensure feasibility studies for all new product or service requests related to Payment and Online integration.
- Efficiently manage projects related to Payment & partners’ integration into the M-Pesa ecosystem.
- Analyze and assess the feasibility of new M-Pesa initiatives/requests and provide recommendations for handling and converting them into new products or services.
- Oversee software development for new M-Pesa initiatives or requests.
- Assist partners in finalizing development and integration with the M-Pesa ecosystem.
- Perform business configuration on G2 to support the implementation of new products or services.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders involved in new product development and provide updates to the M-Pesa team.
- Design solutions for M-Pesa partners based on their requests and implement them.
- Ensure business configuration in the mobile money platform for new products and services.
- Manage and improve the relationship between the M-Pesa team and developers, startups, incubators, fintech, and aggregators to promote innovation and represent M-Pesa in innovation forums.
- Schedule regular meetings with key stakeholders to develop and deliver new products or services.
- Work closely with the M-Pesa Africa team to develop and deliver group initiatives.
- Support M-Pesa Sales and Commercial teams in presenting our offers to the market.
- Interact with VODACOM to ensure that WASP partners use M-Pesa as a payment mode for all existing and new VAS offers.
- Collaborate with the Change Management team to plan and approve business changes related to new products and services.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of Mobile Money projects, adhering to project development methodologies and enhancing visibility in project execution progress, task implementation, and milestones.
Skills, Ability, and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in project design, MS Project, and hardware design.
- Understanding of Web Services and API modeling.
- Familiarity with Open API.
- IT background, especially in connectivity models.
- Results-oriented and able to work in a high-productivity and rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare and present materials (reports and presentations) up to the Market Executive level.

Education & Experience:
- A university degree in Engineering, Mathematics Degree (BAC + 5) / IT Diploma – University or Telecom.
- 2 to 3 years of working experience in GSM or Mobile Money environment or Project management or Product Development environment.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge of GSM network standards and principles.
- Knowledge and experience in systems integration and systems administration.
